BAKKER and Glen remain undefeated on top of the Beck Legal A grade ladder after a thrilling 6/5 win over Swan Hill Homes and Sheds on Monday night.

John Threadgold thought he had done enough after winning his three singles matches for Swan Hill Homes and Sheds, but Ben Mangiameli turned the clock back to defeat a stunned Alan Thompson in four tight sets.

Reigning doubles champion Natalie Whateley and brother Joseph Pino won an important doubles match against veteran Stefan Mangiameli and up and comer Tayte Tants three sets to two to hand R&J Joinery a 6/5 win over Violi Finance.

Kunat Thunder had the messiah, Jason Mangiameli return his five-year, self imposed exile.

The 14-time club champion showed his fighting spirt and along with Paul “Boom Boom” Bethune, they proved to strong for a very disappointing Morpeth Farms, with Aaron Threadgold, who kicked 12 goals on Saturday, was lucky to win 12 points on Monday night.

Chaz Tallboys is the only undefeated B grade player and his march continued again, winning his three singles matches comfortably.

His PDF Accounting team had a 7/4 win over an unlucky Murray Valley Technology Centre side, with Joanne Stevenson playing well for the vanquished and Shane Threadgold developing a large following whereever he plays as he is a bit of a showman and loves the crowd getting involved his matches.

Newcomer Doctor Tellamburea had two vital singles wins in Swan Hill District Drivers Ed 6/5 win over Swan Hill Chemicals.

Charlie Cunningham is playing well and Darren Stevenson also put up a good fight, despite losing.

The final match of the night saw GMG Accounting have a relatively easy 8/3 win over Swan Hill Chemicals.

Neil Caffery was in great form with his attacking forehand and his clever side spin serve, while Tarin Tants is also playing some great table tennis and can vary his game play depending on the situation.

The Swan Hill Table Tennis Association are happy to take on new players mid-season, with a few open spots in different teams available.

If you are interested in playing this season, please contact Max Carroll via the association’s Facebook page, or come along on Monday night to the St Mary’s Primary School gymnasium at 7pm.
