ACTING as a Justice of the Peace for more than 50 years, Russell Bodinnar couldn’t possibly remember all the signatures he has witnessed.
The Balranald resident’s achievement and his long-standing service to the people of New South Wales was recently recognised by the Attorney General and Minister for Justice Greg Smith.
In a formal letter, Mr Smith congratulated Mr Bodinnar on his length of service, which he said was a “remarkable achievement.”
“I would like to take this opportunity to extend to you my sincere appreciation for the significant contribution you have made to your community,” Mr Smith said.
“I have recently decided to formally recognise NSW JPs who have served for 50 years.
“Records of the Department of Attorney General and Justice show that you are one of a select few JPs to have served beyond this milestone.”
Presented with a commemorative certificate, Mr Bodinnar said the years had “gone by so quickly.”
