SPOOKY SETTLEMENT

PIONEER Settlement will be transformed to a place of ghosts, jack-o-lanterns and children dressed up for trick or treating.

Swan Hill charity for sick children We Believe in Unicorns is hosting Trick or Treat with Unicorns at Pioneer Settlement on October 31.

We Believe in Unicorns community volunteer Tracy McLoughlan said the event was being held to give back to the community.

“It’s an event for families, because that’s what (We Believe in) Unicorns is all about,” Ms McLoughlan said.

“You’re not driving from one house all the way through to another, or walking (to trick or treat), so that’s our biggest thing.”

The charity is working alongside other local organisations to host the event.

Being held at Pioneer Settlement for the first time, Ms McLoughlan said the charity was already looking to host the event again next year.

From 5.30pm until 7.30pm, there will be about 10 areas to collect lollies from for this all-ages event.

Look out for the dressed up characters looking to scare a child or two.

Tickets are $5 per child or student, but free for accompanying adults.

“We’ve got the old fashioned games, quoits, some cub and things like that to try and keep in with the Pioneer Settlement theme,” Ms McLoughlan said.

Music will be provided by Spectrum Discos, prizes to be won and a low-cost barbecue will be available.

Tickets can be purchased from Swan Hill Region Information Centre or at the door on the night.

Organisers are expecting more than 200 people to attend the event.
