Make your way to Market Day

THE streets of Swan Hill will be flooded this Friday and Saturday for Swan Hill’s annual Market Day.

A Swan Hill Inc initiative, Market Day coincides with the Swan Hill junior basketball tournament each year, which will see approximately 3000 visitors to the town.

“Market Day is an event that brings the entire community together,” Swan Hill Incorporated marketing co-ordinator Kaylee Whitfield said.

“It’s a great day out for family and friends and there’s a couple of big events happening in town so we’re hoping to get a big crowd.”

With over 30 stalls packed with goods and treasures, Market Day is ensured to have something for everyone.

“There will be plenty of food, craft, bits and pieces of everything,” Ms Whitfield said.

“We’ll also have a jumping castle, face painting, Pint Size Play and two stages filled with live entertainment.”

The event will have a large local theme with all participating Swan Hill businesses offering promotions/special deals across the two days.

“It’s a great opportunity to do some early Christmas shopping and grab some bargains,” Ms Whitfield said.

While Friday is dedicated to a shopping day, Saturday will be a great family fun day out with music and entertainment along the streets.

The youth of Swan Hill will bring the streets alive and musicians and buskers are also guaranteed to be a hit.

The CFA will perform a fire scenario to ensure everyone is ready for fire season and the popular Turners Donuts will also have a stall.

“It’s a great event all-round,” Ms Whitfield said.

“We encourage everyone to come down and make the most of it.”
