Goodbye 2019, hello 2020

THE New Year will be welcomed in with style in Swan Hill with a family-friendly festival taking place at Riverside Park tomorrow night.

Around 2000 locals and visitors are expected to congregate on the banks of the Murray to leave 2019 behind and look forward to what 2020 will bring.

Resolutions will be made, kisses will be delivered, people will dance, sing and celebrate, ending with the night with fireworks to mark the new year.

“It’s going to be a great night with something for everyone to enjoy,” owner/manager of Mildura Entertainment David Storer said.

“There will be plenty of live entertainment and a bunch of activities like Tain Flow Fire Spinner who was a big hit with the kids last year.”

The night is one not to be missed with jumping castles, miniature ponies, face painting, children’s games, photobooth and fireworks at 9.30pm and midnight also on offer.

“It’s a family-friendly atmosphere at a great venue and a great time to celebrate,” Mr Storer said.

“There will also be a licensed bar and food van options for the adults.”

Local four piece band Seven Car Pile Up will be the headlining act in the sound shell, while KEG, Knee Deep and Nabby Solo will also take to the stage to provide a mix of acoustic, pop and rock entertainment.

“We recommend everyone to bring along fold out chairs, picnic rugs and platter snacks to share, sit back relax and enjoy the night,” Mr Storer said.

Gates open at 5.30pm, adults $10, children $5 or family $30.

Strictly no alcohol, glass, sharp items or pets allowed.

The road will not be blocked off for foot-traffic this year.
