Hall of fame

FOR the first time, Swan Hill Town Hall is launching their 2020 season of performances online.

The Swan Hill and region 2020 performing arts program will launch on the town hall’s website at 10am today.

All events will simultaneously be launched on their web pages.

Swan Hill Town Hall performing arts and marketing officer Sharon Brinkman said this year marked their third year of season launches.

“We are trying something different to the previous ones with the brochure going online,” Ms Brinkman said.

“Last year we needed to move the launch inside with the heat and dust storm, but no need to contend with Mother Nature this year.

“We have also previously been asked if the brochure was available online to see.”

You can also head to the town hall or Swan Hill Information Centre for the brochure.

Ms Brinkman said this year’s program provided a wide variety of shows.

“It’s a smashing program this year with a varied and interesting mix of dance, music, theatre and comedy,” she said.

“We are looking forward to sharing what is in store for the stage this year.”

The 2020 program is filling up with rock stars and pop stars, to children’s entertainers, comedy and parody performances.

Kicking off the season is Bar’d Work’s version of Shakespeare’s As You Like: a huge night of sing-a-long and laugh-a-long theatre.

Also announced are some big names including Toni Childs, Ian Moss, You & I starring Racheal Beck and Michael Cormack, and Bjorn Again.

Another first for the town hall will see one lucky person performing on stage in the Swan Hill Town Hall Comedy Gala.

An open mic night will be held to select the winner.

Award-winning RAILED will also be making their way to the stage, in late September, but get in early as tickets will sell out fast.

And for the younger generations (and their families), there will be The Mik Maks, The Listies and Dinosaurs roaming the town hall, and Fort at the Robinvale Community Centre.

Ms Brinkman said more shows would be announced later in the year.

“Keep an eye on our website, Facebook and Instagram for more fantastic shows as they are signed on and announced throughout the year,” she said.

To view the program, head to the town hall’s website (swanhilltownhall.com) or pop into the Swan Hill Town Hall’s foyer to pick up a copy.

Those on the town hall’s mailing list will receive a copy in the post.

If you get in early for shows, you can even purchase early bird tickets.

Tickets can now be purchased in person at the Swan Hill Town Hall bookings office Monday to Friday between 9am-2.30pm, by phone on 5036 2384 or online at swanhilltownhall.com.

Tickets can also be purchased at the Swan Hill Region Information Centre or by phone on 1800 625 373.
