Prime Lamb & Sheep Sale Swan Hill April 16th

 

Swan Hill Regional Livestock Exchange again hosted our fortnightly Sheep & Lamb Sale after the Easter break. Agents yarded just over 4100 head in a mixed market to our regular buying group minus private buyers due to restricted access. Heavy Export Lambs sold in the majority between $240/head topping at $270/head for lambs out of Ultima. Trade lambs sold for $8.30/kg to $8.80/kg with some lighter lambs under 20kgs trending between $9/kg and $10/kg. Mutton quotations finished slightly cheaper this week seeing heavy sheep sell from $200/head to $224/head. Medium weights sold from $170/head through to $190/head while lighter sheep sold from $145/head to $175/head.
