And the action started early this year with the Drowning Sorrows Duo kicking off the entertainment with a stand in the Swan Hill RSL at 138 Curlewis St.

SWAN Hill Women In Racing is hosting the Golden Topaz in the Hub today – the opening day of the three-day bet365 Swan Hill June Racing Carnival – and it is the must place to be.

Burns getting horses in order

With 12 horses in work at her stable, part-time trainer Helen Burns has two horses nominated for Friday, four for Saturday and the two for Sunday.

Coffey chasing Swan Hill Cup

HE might have a Caulfield Cup in his trophy cupboard – along with a swag of country cups big and small – and there’s plenty more he would like to add to the collection, such as the Melbourne Cup.

But there is one country cup Swan Hill’s superstar jockey Harry Coffey hasn’t managed to pull off yet – and he would dearly love to have it.

Coffey not hopeful for Cup

AUSTY Coffey isn’t expecting to take home the bet365 Swan Hill Cup this year – but he reckons he’s got bigger fish to fry.

Such as getting the right jockey to ride the team of as many as eight he will be hoping to see in action across the long weekend.
