Swan Hill travellers need test before entering SA

TRAVELLERS from Swan Hill will need to take a COVID-19 test 72 hours before entering South Australia, despite the local government area having over 98 per cent double vaccinations and only three active cases.

Mildura is classed at Level 1, ‘Very Low Risk’, with no community transmission.

This is despite Mildura being locked down only last month and two cases being identified in the LGA over the weekend.

There are now 22 active cases in Mildura.

Swan Hill is classified as Level 2, or ‘Low Risk’, which means in addition to having the test, travellers will need to monitor their symptoms for 14 days using the HealthCheck SA app.

Swan Hill only has three active cases at time of writing.

South Australia opened its borders to fully vaccinated Victorians from Tuesday, after the state reached its 80 per cent double-dose vaccination target.

Travellers will need to complete an EntryCheck SA application, where Swan Hill residents are considered ‘cross border community members’.

Unvaccinated travellers are not permitted to enter the state without applying for an exemption to travel through EntryCheck SA.

The COVID-19 vaccination requirements will apply to all travellers over 12 years and two months of age.
