TWO performers on an epic 12-month musical tour for a cause will make a stop in
Tooleybuc this weekend.
AJ MuRiel and MaVis, a performing duo from the
Sunshine Coast, have pledged to raise $50,000 in 12 months for the National
Breast Cancer Foundation.
MaVis, one half of the dynamic duo, said “passion”
had motivated them to take up the touring challenge.
“We came across
fundraising by accident,” MaVis said.
They were already touring on the road
with their act, combining covers, original songs and generous lashings of
comedy, when the idea presented itself.
“We came across people doing
fundraising for the Jane McGrath Foundation and they asked to come along,” MaVis
said.
“Two weeks into it we went, ‘oh my gosh’. We were totally motivated by
people’s amazing stories.
