Raw water switched on at Murray Downs

MURRAY Downs residents will be able to save costs when it comes to watering their gardens, with the raw water reuse scheme being switched on this week.

The water reuse scheme means residents will use water from the Murray River for their gardens, rather than drinking water.

Wakool Shire Council General Manager Bruce Graham said residents will notice discolouration in water from their garden hose.

“It is terrific that the Murray Downs raw water reuse scheme is coming into effect, and we remind residents that garden water from hoses is raw water from the river and therefore not safe to drink,” Mr Graham said.
