Annual egg hunt draws big crowds

THERE were long lines to get into the Swan Hill Pioneer Settlement yesterday as hundreds of eager youngsters and their families gathered for the annual Easter egg hunt.

Pioneer Settlement operations manager Grant Jones said children were given a map with clues on the back and had to collect stamps along the way to claim their Easter egg bounty at the end.

“There have been great numbers through the gates — I wouldn’t like to guess how many,” he said.

“The horse and cart hasn’t stopped all day and that’s usually a good indication.”

Mr Jones said the settlement had been consistently busy throughout the Easter long weekend.
