POLICE have urged parents to ensure their children are browsing the internet safely, after a 19-year-old man was charged with child sex offences.
The Swan Hill man was charged with procuring sexual penetration of a child and grooming for sexual conduct with a child under 16 years of age after police were alerted to suspicious activity on the child’s social media account.
Detective Senior Constable Mick Corridan said parents should remain aware of what their children are doing on social media.
“Check who they are talking to on Facebook and on other social media outlets,” he said.
