Interest in Tigers’ response

HOW will Woorinen respond at Lake Boga tomorrow? That’s the question being asked of last year’s Central Murray Football Netball League A Grade runners-up after the Tigers’ home court loss to the improved Kerang last week.

The Tigers went down by seven goals to a Blues outfit hoping to demonstrate improvement this year and potentially push deeper into finals than in 2014.

The loss would have been galling for the Tigers who would have been looking to make a statement under new coach Tessa Burton.

The Round 2 win over Balranald means Woorinen is now 1-1, while Boga sits a few rungs below the Tigers with one win from three games.

Magpies coach Jaclyn Clark said she was anticipating a tough game from last year’s grand finalists.

“They’ve got quite a few new faces so it’ll be interesting to see how they work together,” she said.

“At the same time we have to focus on our game. We had a great team effort last weekend against Swan Hill — if we put four quarters together like we did in the second and third last week we’ll hopefully have a successful game.”

Clark said last week was a step in the right direction despite the loss to Swan Hill.

“We’ve started off the year with many ups and downs already.

“Hopefully we can continue to improve this weekend,” she said.
