Hundreds of hounds and humans at Million Paws Walk

A PAWFULLY cute pack of precious pets descended on Riverside Park to raise funds for animal welfare last weekend.

More than 360 dogs and their two-legged companions headed to the park on Sunday for the 12th local Million Paws Walk.

“There were about 220 humans walking, 140 dogs and two dingoes,” event organiser Lisa Edge said.

“It was a beautiful day and it all went off successfully. It was a really good social day for dogs and people.’

The event raises funds for the RSPCA to continue its work with vulnerable and mistreated animals.

Ms Edge said the amount raised would not be disclosed, as they preferred to keep the focus on the messages the event was trying to promote.

This year, that focus was on rescue dogs and the importance of knowing who you were purchasing your pets from.
