THE Buroinjin Cup will showcase the talents of local primary school students in a traditional game to be played as part of Reconciliation Week.
The game will feature students from Swan Hill North and Swan Hill Primary schools on June 3, with Indigenous students from Swan Hill College to assist in umpiring the game.
Buroinjin is a traditional game played by the Kabi Kabi people of south Queensland, where teams endeavour to move a ball made of kangaroo skin — the buroinjin — to one end of a rectangular playing arena to score.
The game will feature two Grade 6 teams of up to 10 players and run for half an hour.
