Calling all winter superheroes

SUPERPOWERS don’t always make you a superhero.

As the Swan Hill region braces for the onset of winter, local op shops are looking for donations of all types of winter clothes.

Red Cross Shops community engagement manager Kate Dear said anyone could be a winter woollies superhero this winter by helping to stock op-shops with winter clothes.

“Your daggy jumper, unwanted coat or ridiculous beanie can be turned into a phone call to check on an elderly person living alone, a shower and a hot meal for a young homeless person, or clean drinking water for someone affected by a disaster,” she said.

“It is as easy as donating a woolly jumper or a warm coat that you probably won’t wear this year.”
