A LOCAL junior athlete has been selected for an exclusive, intensive training camp later this year.
Tooleybuc Central School’s Emma Berg will hone her impressive discus at the Little Athletics Australia national camp at the AIS in September.
Discus is the Year 9 student’s pet event and will be her sole focus for the three-day program, with specialist coaches to fine-tune students’ skills in their primary discipline.
Berg, who competes in Under 15s athletics events, said the selection had come as a shock earlier this year.
“I was pretty happy and quite surprised,” she said.
