DARTS were whizzing around furiously at Murray Downs at the weekend, with more than 100 enthusiasts taking part in the annual Swan Hill Cup.
In its fifth year since the move over the river from the RSL, the Cup attracted more than 100 players from across the region.
Twenty teams of five vied for the main prize in men’s and women’s competition, with the Swan Hill Darts League planning the 30th edition of the cup from about six weeks out.
First place in the men’s competition was taken out by a team from Bendigo, with a team from Echuca winning the women’s section.
SHDL treasurer Dawn Webb said the organising committee had been preparing for the event for more than a month.
“It takes a fair bit of planning. We start about six weeks before and work out how many teams we’ve got and how much prize money to give out,” she said.
