SWAN Hill will today host Sandra Moran on her national motorcycle crusade to raise awareness for suicide prevention.
Ms Moran lost her son, Jaie Moran, to suicide in April last year.
Since then she has made it her mission to travel Australia and campaign for the awareness of suicide, and other emotional and mental health issues.
The suicide toll in Australia stands at 1486 this year, but gets significantly less attention and funding than other concerns, Ms Moran said.
Her tour will take her 36,000km around Australia over a period of 107 days, with over 300 towns on her itinerary, including stops in Tasmania.
‘Jaie’s Journey’ began on Saturday in Melbourne and already Ms Moran and her entourage have travelled through Ballarat, Ararat, Hamilton, Horsham, Hopetoun, Ouyen and Mildura.
Overdownunder is supporting Ms Moran in her journey showcasing a film production on bullying, depression and suicide.
