Yung Gunz mentioned in State Parliament

LOCAL band Yung Gunz made its debut in parliament last week.

The five-piece band was recognised by Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh on the back of their success in the television talent quest Band Wars.

The band members, who are no older than 16, will battle it out against a field of eight in the show’s grand final on August 23, being held at Musicland in Melbourne and broadcast on Foxtel channel 183, Aurora.

They have already competed against 43 bands from across Australia in four separate knockout rounds to take their place on the final stage.

Mr Walsh, the Nationals’ leader, singled out by name each of the band-mates, along with their manager, to pay tribute to them in front of his parliamentary colleagues.

“Eli Keating, Jason Forster, Shannon Bishop, Callum McNabb and Lachie Dunn are the youngest in the competition but already have a string of original songs and a CD under their belt,” Mr Walsh told the parliament.
