LOCALS will be celebrating this weekend with the CBD back to normal with the consummation of the roadworks, and an added bonus: free parking.
In honour of this Paula Starrs from Mint Soda will be hosting a mini-market, featuring some home grown businesses and promoting the free parking.
“We’re celebrating!” Ms Starrs exclaimed, “Spring is sprung.”
“The roadworks have been going on for six weeks, it’s almost done out front so we’re holding a market to promote the free car-parking.”
The council and Swan Hill Inc initiative runs from this Saturday, September 5, until January 2 and will apply to council managed metres — the Coles car park is excluded.
Local retailers lobbied for the free parking believing that the opportunity for shoppers to “take their time” would benefit local businesses and stimulate the Swan Hill economy.
