Abilities the focus of Disability Day

INTERNATIONAL Disability Day will be marked tomorrow around the world and Swan Hill will be involved with several activities focused around Jeanette Young’s Production, ‘Imagine That!’.

There will be two performances on Thursday by the cast who have been rehearsing since the beginning of the year.

While the cast identify as having a disability, it will be their abilities that are in focus on opening night.

Also involved are the SuniTAFE Certificate 1 Work Education students who will fulfil the role of ushers for both the day and night performances.

Fifty-five students from Swan Hill Specialist School will be in the audience for the show, not just as a sign of support to the cast, but also to highlight the message that “you can achieve anything you set your sights on,” Ms Young said.

Imagine That! tickets are still available for the 11am and 7pm shows.

For tickets contact the Regional Information Centre on 5036 2444.
