Nyah success a love affair

IT has been a long time between drinks for both Nyah Nyah West United’s senior football and netball sides to appear in grand finals — 15 years and 12 years respectively — but this weekend a husband and wife will look to secure two premierships for the club in both sports.

Jarrod and Gretchen Skinner will play in the senior football and A Reserve netball grand finals respectively, with both players looking to end the year with fairytale flags.

Jarrod grew up at the club, while Gretchen’s father was involved with Nyah West.

She made the move from Ultima a few years ago after winning two premierships in the Golden Rivers Netball League but has not since played in a grand final for Nyah Nyah West.

Heading into tomorrow, Jarrod said the couple was excited.
