The Salvation Army is urging Swan Hill residents to support its annual Christmas appeal and donate to local people in crisis.
December is the busiest time of year for the Salvation Army when the need to help local people in crisis is three times greater than in any other month.
Captain Judy Brown of the Salvation Army Swan Hill Corps said people could make a meaningful difference by donating to the appeal and lending a hand.
“The Salvation Army Christmas Appeal has been happening in Swan Hill for as long as they (the Salvos) been here, which is a very long time,” she said.
“Donated food is one of the items we always need and although foods that don’t go off quickly are encouraged, Christmas cakes and puddings are more than welcome.”
Captain Brown said everything donated to the appeal would stay in the Swan Hill area to benefit local families.
“People are always so generous with their donations,” she said.
“We are very grateful and appreciate the support we have had over the years.”
