A SWAN Hill man was left for dead following an alleged carjacking in Macedon on Sunday.
The victim, 25, was travelling from Melbourne to Swan Hill when he parked his car on Willeys Road, near Black Forest Drive.
Police have been told the man was dragged from his vehicle and assaulted by an unknown man, who stole the vehicle and fled the scene.
Passers-by noticed the injured man about 5.20pm and called emergency services.
Ambulance Victoria confirmed to The Guardian the victim was treated for upper body injuries.
The man was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
Detectives arrested a 37-year-old Reservoir man on Monday, who is assisting with enquiries.
