Barham-Koondrook Grand Final Player Profiles

Garry Lolicato – (co-captain) Left Hand Batsman/Right Arm Fast Bowler

Has dominated the SHDCA with both bat and ball this season, winning the Bill Gurnett Trophy as the league’s A grade best and fairest on Wednesday night. Talented all-rounder who will open both the batting and bowling, the Raiders will be hoping his strong season continues for one more game.

Lance Davidson – Right Hand Batsman/Right Arm Bowler

An experienced opening batsman that has the ability to bat deep into Barham-Koondrook’s innings. Has scored an impressive 237 runs this season, with a highest score of 71 at the top of the order against the dangerous St. Mary’s-Tyntynder bowling attack.

Warren Lolicato – Left Hand Batsman/Right Arm Fast Bowler

Has scored 429 runs at an average of 35.75 this season – the second most runs in the SHDCA. Is a hard-hitting batter who will relish the gaps on the big Swan Hill oval and will be the wicket most sought after by the Nyah District bowling attack.

Kynan Laursen – Left Hand Batsman/Wicket Keeper

Returned to his home club after a stint with RSL and has been a key factor in the Raiders climb up the ladder this season. A young wicket keeper/batsman who plays an important role in the middle order, Laursen can be relied upon to hold up an end even when the going gets difficult.

Chameera Akurugoda – Right Hand Batsman/Right Arm Fast-Medium Bowler

Will take the new ball tomorrow with his accurate bowling a key feature of Barham-Koondrook’s game plan with the ball. Is a more than capable batter who can score quick middle order runs, as well as a solid in and out-field fielder.

Joel Davidson – Right Hand Batsman/Right Arm Spin Bowler

Having shown flashes of brilliance with the bat throughout the season, Davidson will be a key player for the Raiders tomorrow. Is Barham-Koondrook’s frontline spinner and should get plenty of overs on what promises to be a hot day in the field.

Lachlan Laursen – Left Hand Batsman

Was at his devastating best in last Saturday’s semi-final thrashing of Wandella, with the power hitter belting 38 from 32 balls – including 20 in one over off Peter Moore. Can do bulk damage with minimum deliveries and will be hoping to do similar to the last time the two clubs met, when he scored a run a ball 34.

Hayden Solar – Right Hand Batsman

A steady head in Barham-Koondrook’s middle order, the experienced cricketer has been a huge inclusion for the Raiders this season. Assesses the game well and can bat according to any situation in the game.

Sean Solar – Left Hand Batsman/Left Arm Fast-Medium Bowler

Late season recruit to the Raiders, Solar will play an important role with both bat and ball in tomorrow’s grand final. Showed how dangerous he can be in last Saturday’s semi-final win, taking 3-30 from seven overs, including the wicket of the in-form Samuel Copland and Bombers captain Ryan Barnes.

Caleb Davidson – Right Hand Batsman/Right Arm Fast-Medium Bowler

Has had some big games with the ball this season, including a four-wicket haul against Ultima-TUF earlier this year. Has an awkward bowling action that can make it tough to bat against.

Jayden Hall – (co-captain) Right Hand Batsman/Right Arm Fast-Medium Bowler

Co-captain of the Raiders alongside Lolicato, Hall will be hoping to lead his team to their first premiership since joining the SHDCA. Dangerous first change bowler who has taken 20 wickets this season to be among Barham-Koondrook’s leading wicket takers. Will bowl plenty of overs with hot weather forecast.
