LAST year’s premiers Balranald started the season with the a convincing win over Tyntynder, beating the Dogs by 24 goals.
The Roos were in control from the start of the match, getting an early lead of six goals by the end of the first quarter. The Dogs were left chasing their tails for the rest of the game, unable to recoup their lost opportunities.
However, Tyntynder A Grade coach Teagan Lawry was still happy with how her fresh team performed in the rainy weather.
“In atrocious conditions, I was really pleased with the way our completely newly formed A Grade team combined together to face last year’s premiers,” Lawry said.
Monica Ellis and Toni Rivett were among the Dogs’ best in the match, both playing hard and fighting for every ball through the midcourt against premiership players Madison Jess and Bonnie Jolliffe.
