Border now open for fully vaccinated

THE border between New South Wales and Victoria is now completely open to fully vaccinated people.

As of midnight last night, all local government areas in NSW and the ACT are considered “green zones”, meaning that travellers and workers entering Victoria from these places no longer face testing or quarantine requirements.

All people coming to Victoria, however, will still need a permit from Service Victoria to show they are not COVID-positive or under an isolation order.

Anyone who is not fully vaccinated still faces strict restrictions in each state and unvaccinated adult Victorians cannot enter NSW for holidays or recreation.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews and NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet said in a joint statement that travel changes were part of “normalising living with the virus”.
