Works on the new Headspace and Swan Hill District Health counselling services building began last week.
The two health services will be situated adjacent at the new $1.7 million Pritchard Street site, which is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
The new Headspace building will be established on the vacant 11 Pritchard Street site and the adjacent counselling services, which has operated from a converted weatherboard dwelling, will be replaced with a purpose-built facility.
The buildings are funded through the combination of a Department of Health and Human Services grant and Swan Hill District Health reserve funds.
Since the national youth health organisation opened its doors in Swan Hill in February last year, Headspace has been temporarily located next to Mallee District Aboriginal Services on Nyah Road.
