The National Broadband Network (NBN) says it will address any future infrastructure issues after a resident discovered a node was installed at the front of the Swan Hill court house, the route for the controversial 9A bridge option.
Option 9A, supported by Vic Roads and Murray River Council, would feature a lift-span bridge, about 100 metres upstream of the current bridge, cutting through Riverside Park at Curlewis Street.
The court house on Curlewis Street and outdoor swimming pool on Monash Drive would both be demolished to make way for the new bridge and a T-intersection at Curlewis Street. Resident Lindsay McRae stumbled across the NBN asset which is positioned on the Swan Hill Planning Scheme Overlay C41.
The overlay sets aside land and guides current and future development within the corridor for construction of a future Murray River bridge and its approaches on the government’s preferred option 9A alignment.
