WITH just five weeks to go, the Central Murray Football Netball League (CMFNL) ladder is hotting up.

A three-way battle for top spot is underway with Nyah Nyah West United, Kerang and Koondrook Barham all fighting for pole position at the business end of the season.

All three clubs have suffered two losses so far this year, all but confirming their place in the finals.

Swan Hill were able to cause a massive upset on Saturday to beat the Demons, but so far haven’t featured on the CMFNL ladder as highly as they would like.

The embattled club is stuck down in eighth spot, six competition points out of the finals, with Cohuna Kangas and Tyntynder.

Balranald are still winless and relegated to winning the wooden spoon.

Lake Boga are holding onto their spot in fourth position on 28 points, with Woorinen, Tooleybuc Manangatang and Mallee Eagles hot on their heels just one win behind.

With so many ladder battles yet to happen this season, anything could happen as teams vie for the chance to dethrone Kerang.
