SWAN Hill has made the most of its home-ground advantage by reaching this morning’s grand final of the Men’s A Grade division.
After coming second in their group stage with five wins and two losses, the highest ranked local representative team defeated Maryborough three sets to one in yesterday’s semi-finals.
It now has momentum running into the final, who it plays against last year’s champions and competition favourites Mud Island, having won their last five games.
The two teams met at the beginning of the group stage, with Mud Island beting Swan Hill 3-29 to 1-23.
Swan Hill then went on to lose to The Wedding Crashers in the third round, putting them at one win and two losses and sitting fourth in the A Grade ladder.
They bounced back strongly, winning the next four group stage matches before eliminating third-placed Maryborough in the semis.
