Nyah takes on Murray Downs

THE match of the round in division one will be played at Nyah when it takes on Murray Downs.

Nyah District is sitting in second place on the ladder at the moment with only one loss.

Nyah has a good side on paper, and with Tom Elford, Peter Wynne and Simon Wynne in great form, it will push Murray Downs all the way.

Murray Downs would be disappointed with the result last week, and will be keen to get back on the winners’ list.

With the new Murray Valley singles champion, Buc Lehmann, bowling well, and with good support from Peter Furnell and John Manser, Murray Downs will win a very close game by five shots.

Unbeaten Swan Hill travels to play Moulamein, which is yet to win a game.

Swan Hill has been doing it easy so far this year, with Tuppy Lewis, Tony Marsili, Bill Bennett and Peter Hutchinson in great form.

Moulamein has been close in each match, due to Garry McGrath, Aaron Warboyes, Mick Moreson and David Thomas.

Moulamein will need a better contribution overall, if it’s to get near Swan Hill.

The visitors to win by 22 shots.

Balranald is at home to play Racecourse.

Racecourse has always struggled to do well at Balranald, but with Racecourse’s youngsters, Chris Savage Tom Vernon and Quenten Graham, continuing to improve, everything looks good for them.

John Manning, Frank Smith, Lance Howley and Jim Jewell all played before the bye, and a repeat of that form will push Racecourse all the way.

Racecourse to win by 11 shots.

Lake Boga has the bye.
