Market a Father’s Day treat

THERE is no better way to welcome spring than perusing local produce on the riverbank at Sunday’s Swan Hill Market.

The market provides the perfect Father’s Day breakfast outing and a possibility for Dad to pick out his own gift, or to pick up something yummy to take to lunch.

Amy O’Connor will provide entertainment, demonstrating her two Brittany cocker spaniels’ agility.

Ms O’Connor and her dog Skeet recently competed in the 2024 Agility National, making it into the finals and earning six pass cards for their efforts.

Dog agility involves owners navigating their dogs through an obstacle course with hoops, tunnels, jumps and other challenges under time pressure.

Marketgoers will be able to book their own dogs in for training with Ms O’Connor after the demonstration.

We Believe in Unicorns’ revival of the market keeps growing momentum, with 10 additional stallholders necessitating a second aisle on the lawns of Riverside Park and bringing more variety for customers.

The market kicks off at 9am at Riverside Park in Monash Drive. Marketgoers can enjoy coffee from Bean Hopper, a barbecue by Sunrise Rotary, Elaine’s Dumplings, hot food by Mallee Hot Bites and donuts by Carol Webb.

Cakes and other baked goods will be available from stallholders.

All profits raised from the market are donated to We Believe in Unicorns, who provide support to families with sick children.
