Dinosaur theme for the school holidays
WE are having some fun in our municipality during the September school holidays.
Our services are partnering to present local children and visitors to our region with dinosaur-themed activities.
Our visitor services, Pioneer Settlement, art gallery, library services and the town hall will be hosting fun activities for all ages. And, what’s more, children will have chances to win prizes.
Children who participate will go in the draw to win $400 worth of Swan Hill shopping dollars, once they have received a dinosaur stamp, from each of our participating services and submitted their entry at the Swan Hill Region Information Centre.
First prize is $250 Swan Hill shopping dollars, second prize is $100 and third prize is $50.
We hope the activities create some excitement for the Dinomaniacs show, coming to the Swan Hill Town Hall on September 28.

New colour scheme for Town Hall
FOLLOWING a recent poll on council’s Let’s Talk page, our results are in and the new heritage colour scheme for the Swan Hill Town Hall will be the preferred option.
We had a great response from the community, with 187 people completing the poll.
I would like to thank everyone for their input and assistance in determining this outcome.
Council now has a tender open for the exterior refurbishment project and it will close on September 15.
Asset naming register
COUNCIL is currently inviting members of the community to submit naming suggestions to be included on council’s asset naming masterlist.
We are particularly seeking to recognise prominent women from the region, as well as local Aboriginal language.
The register will give us an opportunity to honour individuals and groups when we’re naming new roads, parklands, open spaces or buildings in the future.
I encourage anyone who knows a local individual or group that deserves recognition for past contributions and achievements to get in touch.
Submissions can be made online at letstalk.swanhill.vic.gov.au
