A SWAN Hill business owner has called upon residents to support local business in the wake of the Fair Work Commission’s decision to cut penalty rates.
Rebecca Hart, of Boo’s Place, said she employed 16 local residents to work at her cafe and was adamant she would remain open on Sundays if the demand was there.
However, in order to do so, she said foot traffic had to be consistent.
“If we are supported by the community with customers on a Sunday, we will continue to open,” she said.
“All of my employees are on casual rates and the new hospitality rate only applies to full-time and part-time employees.
