UPDATE: 2PM 25/11/2016

POLICE divers are still searching the Murray River at Swan Hill after a man went missing on Wednesday night.

The Victoria Police Search and Rescue Squad, Echuca-Moama Search and Rescue and the State Emergency Service have searched more than six metres below the water surface in murky waters to no avail.

“There is no visibility below the surface so it’s very much a case of feeling what is around,” NSW Police Deniliquin Local Area Command Inspector Paul Huggett told The Guardian.

“We will have NSW divers assisting Victoria Police this afternoon.

“We will make a call this afternoon if we continue the search or call it off.”

Insp. Huggett thanked Victoria Police and SES for their assistance.
