I ENJOYED the article ‘Screen time’ in last Friday’s The Guardian.
I wonder if the site of each large screen should be located on both the east and west sides (which incidentally is where they appear on the enhanced photo by Nick Moseley, appearing in the article), instead of north and south sides, as reported.
The main reason is that there is room for more people to gather on the east, and to a degree, the west as well, without disrupting traffic.
Also, from a road safety perspective, I assume that more vehicles travel the main street than the McCallum Street direction.
Therefore, the less distractions to traffic, the better.
Don’t get me wrong: I am all for offering more opportunities for businesses to make a living and for tourists and locals alike to relax in.
