High-end talent to Saints

FORMER AFL player Josh Williams has joined Tooleybuc-Manangatang in another big signing for the club that has arguably had the best off-season in the Central Murray Football League.

Williams played two games for North Melbourne in 2017 and is best known for being in the elite club of kicking a goal with his first disposal.

Before being drafted at pick 36 by the Roos, Williams was a Gold Coast Suns academy product and played for their reserves, along with being a Queensland and Allies under 18s representative.

Since being delisted by the Roos in 2018, Williams has played four seasons in the NEAFL and then VFL with the Southport Sharks.

Last season he averaged 14 disposals from his seven VFL games and kicked four goals.

His preferred spot is on the wing, where he can utilise his pace, but expect someone of his quality to be thrown into the coalface for the Saints.

Williams will link up with former Southport team mate Blake Grant along with a litany of huge signings, including Trey Clark, Tim Auckland, Ethan Goldfinch and Kwaby Boakye.

Tigers aiming big

WOORINEN has made a huge signing in their attempt to top the mountain in 2023.

Hybrid midfield-forward Danko Bzenic will be pulling on the yellow and black next season after plying his trade for Northern Football League club Montmorency this year.

Bzenic has plenty of pace and X-factor around goal, making him the perfect signing for the Tigers, who already have a plethora of gun inside midfielders.

He has plenty of experience at a high level including playing two games for Richmond’s VFL back in 2017, in between stints in the Essendon District Football League’s Premier Division for West Coburg and Avondale Heights.

A quartet of players have also resigned for the Tigers including Arnold Kirby, Tyler Beasy, Matthew King and Jordy McInnes.

Bombers sign seasoned campaigner

FORMER Quambatook key defender Jarred Schlitz has made the short move down the road to Wandella after the Saints folded.

Schlitz has been a rock-solid defensive pillar in the Golden Rivers Football Netball League for many years now and will be a crucial addition for the Bombers, who are one of the competition’s favourites this season.

The good news continues for the Bombers with senior ruckman Ricky Cathie, 2017 premiership player Cal Gray and young star Jack Radcliffe re-signing.
