ANGLICAN

THE delightful story of Stone Soup was the teaching segment at both Swan Hill and Nyah West last Sunday, reminding us that if we all give and share our time, talents and treasure as we are able, the outcome is so much greater.

The Op Shop and Men’s Shed enjoyed a delicious lunch outing at Lucy Dacey’s to give thanks to Carol Sutton as she retires to Queensland.

We will miss her bright nature and huge capacity for work for the centre and the community.

Our $5 bag sale is now on.

There’s lots of winter clothing to clear, so come along and gather some bargains.

Rev Denis has been taking services in the Aged Care centres and Nyah West to enable Rev Julie to rest her injured knee.

Julie is now using crutches, so her mobility has increased. Rev Denis also served as Chaplain at the Vietnam Vets service to commemorate their service to our country.

Save the date: On Sunday, August 31 at 11am our Parish Service will take place in the church at the Pioneer Settlement.

Attendees are encouraged to dress up.

Bishop Matt is hoping to be with us as he recovers from his serious cycling accident.

We will retire to the Paragon Café for lunch or a cuppa.

All welcome.

GRAIN SHED

LAST weekend was action-packed with our Youth and leaders travelling to Melbourne, mixing with a crowd of 5000 like-minded youths at Youth Alive.

Alive with Jesus but somewhat tired Sunday.

Church Sunday was also amazing.

Our guest speaker Pastor Julie always preaches from the heart, and this combined with our worship team, was very moving and powerful. Ephesians 3:14-21

This week, our youth meet at the Grain Shed from 7-9pm and Sunday at 10am. Pastor Shayne will share his message from Ephesians 4.

All are welcome to join us and our Grain Shed Kids check-in desk is open from 9.45am.

After the service, stay around for a cuppa and a chat in fellowship.

Save the date: The men’s bonfire night will take place on Saturday, August 30.

Speak to Scott Anderson for more details.

There will be a Safe Ministries Workshop for all volunteers at the Grain Shed on Saturday, September 6, from 10am-11.30am.
