6pm: Swan Hill Salvation Army music, food and fun. Common Grace is this year’s theme.

8pm: Live music at Swan Hill Club, featuring Drowning Sorrows.

9pm-12am: Live music at Commercial Hotel Swan Hill, featuring That Guy.


SATURDAY

8am: Lake Boga Foreshore 5km parkrun. It’s free, but register before your first run. Email lakebogaforeshore@parkrun.com.

9am-noon: Anglican Boot Sale and Cottage Craft at the Anglican Function Centre. A large variety of stalls including books, household items, craft, fruit, honey, plants and vegetables. Barbecue and Joan’s scones.

6.30pm: Sonic Speedway GOSA Blue Shed State Series Round, JSPA Series Round, VIC Mini and Lightning Sprints, VSC Sport Sedans Dirt X Series Round, V8 Trucks, Local Support Classes. Cost is adults $25, concession $20, children 10-16 $10, under 10 free.

6.30pm: St Patrick’s Day live music at Wycheproof Royal Mail Hotel featuring Jeruk River Band.

7pm: Themed buffet at Swan Hill RSL Club.


SUNDAY

9am-11am: Food and Fibre Market at Tooleybuc. Showcasing local produce and products. Playground for the children. Everything from organic beetroot flowers and bulbs to honey.

9.30am: Lake Boga Bowling Club men’s and ladies singles novice competition. Open to Murray Valley Playing Area members. Must be a member of a club, full or social (can pay $10 Lake Boga social member on the day, if required). Games will be played and scored same as Skins Day. Games will be two ends, players will play several games throughout the day.

11am: Swan Hill Jockey Club St Patrick’s family day. Gates open at 11am. Come and support the local community and enjoy the up-close racing action that you only get in the country. Whether you are looking for country casual or a catered experience, there are packages to suit everybody. There are children’s foot races and free Kelly Sports activities, food court and raffle. Cost is adults $10, children 17 and under free.

11am: Park and Brag in the main street of Lake Boga. Gathering of like-minded people who want to show off their toys. Anything with a rumble is welcome.


TUESDAY

7pm: Barefoot bowls at Murray Downs Golf & Country Club. Teams of three. Cost is $5 per player.

7pm: Author talk with Glenna Thomson at Swan Hill Regional Library. Gone is a gripping novel set in the highlands of rural Victoria. When Rebecca fails to return home after the last day of school 1984, her father reports her missing. Gone is the story of a grieving family and their 40-year journey to discover the truth. Glenna is also the author of Blueberry and Stella and Margie. Bookings preferred. Booking signing and sales available.

7.15pm: Bingo at Tooleybuc Sporting Club.


WEDNESDAY

8am: Pink Golf Day at Murray Downs Golf & Country Club. Assemble at 8am. Cost is $20 per player. Raffle proceeds. Stableford teams of four. Three best scores count. Visitors welcome with payment of greens fees. Book at the pro shop.

8pm: Old Time Dancing at at Murray Downs Golf & Country Club, after the draw.


THURSDAY

11.30am: Bingo at Tooleybuc Sporting Club.

6pm: Lawn bowls fundraiser at Lake Boga Bowling Club. Fighting MND. Cost is $15 per person, includes barbecue dinner and major raffle prize.

Individuals or teams of four. All funds raised go to FightMND.


ALL MONTH

February 17-April 14 (Tuesday-Friday, 10am-5pm, Saturday-Sunday, 10am-4pm): Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery exhibitions Yarrein Mud Lyric. The ceramics of potter Liz Maddy and the poetry of friend and neighbour Verity Oswin come together in a sustained mixed-media exploration of the pastoral and Riverina landscape they live in.
