Man makes death threats at bus

POLICE say a man made death threats to V/Line staff at Swan Hill railway station on January 9.

They said the man was asked to show his ticket before boarding a bus to Mildura.

He became “extremely agitated” by the request and made death threats, after which he was arrested.


Woman assaulted

MEN assaulted a woman after she left a party in Swan Hill on January 13.

The victim left a Hoare Street address after feeling uncomfortable and was followed by three men.

A short distance away, she was assaulted by one or two of the men. A friend helped her return home to call police.

A doorknock helped identify the alleged offenders.


Ute stolen

POLICE are investigating the theft of a utility from a Swan Hill yard.

The Mazda BT-50 utility was stolen from the Wannon Court yard sometime between January 1 and 15.

The vehicle was locked, but a spare set of keys was left inside. Police were viewing CCTV images.


RSL targeted

THE Swan Hill RSL Club was the target of vandalism on January 9.

A witness saw a male graffiti a door at the club before walking away.


Baton seized

A MAN will appear in court on charges of being in possession of a prohibited weapon.

Police searched the man’s vehicle after intercepting it in Bromley Road, Robinvale, on January 9 and found a black extendable baton.

He will appear in court at a later date.


Phone stolen

A MOBILE phone was stolen from a vehicle parked in Perrin Street, Robinvale, on January 9.

The owner left the vehicle unlocked with her phone on the front seat.

Police reviewed CCTV footage of the area and observed a male loitering around cars.


Bike snatch foiled

A MALE offender had his eyes on a motorcycle at a Swan Hill property before realising it was secured.

On trying to push the motorcycle out of the Stradbroke Avenue property on January 10, he saw it was chained.

He then attempted to steal a pushbike, but rear-wheel damage made it unrideable.
