Jetski warning
A young male was given an official caution after being found riding a Seadoo watercraft on Gunbower Creek at Cohuna on New Year’s Day. The unlicensed ‘master’ of the watercraft was from the state’s south-east and was carrying two passengers.
Edge weapon assault
Police were called to a Kerang home on Saturday, January 6, after an altercation earlier that day. Two men had minor injuries caused by an edged weapon. Police went to a second home, where imitation firearms were located, and a 28-year-old man was arrested.
Vehicle targeted
Offenders have used a sharp object to try to gain entry to a vehicle parked on a nature strip in Vaughn Street, Kerang between 10.30pm on December 30 and 3pm the following day.
Blower burglary
Offenders have stolen two leaf blowers from a business in Koondrook, after forcing entry to a building between December 27 and January 2.
Nail gun nicked
A nail fixing gun has been stolen from the verandah of a home in Guthrie Street, Quambatook between December 24 and January 2.
Driver sentenced
Robinvale police intercepted a vehicle on the night of January 2. The driver, from Melbourne, was found to have a disqualified driver’s licence and was in possession of what is alleged to be methylamphetamine. The driver faced Mildura court the next day and was sentenced to five days imprisonment.
Theft from vehicle
A wallet was stolen from an unlocked, parked car in Carrington Street, Robinvale on the afternoon of January 2.
Attempted burglary
Offenders have attempted to force a roller door at the Swan Hill Football Club clubrooms between 8pm on January 2 and 4am the next day. No entry was gained.
Sextortion reports
Police have received reports of sextortion or blackmail over the school holiday period. One young male shared a video of himself to someone they met online, and the recipient immediately demanded $8500. Police are reminding internet users to be careful with what you share online, and for parents to speak to their children about this issue.
