FRIDAY

1.30pm: Sand art at Swan Hill Regional Library. Join Bella from Bunnings for a simple, fun and creative children’s activity. Create a unique picture using coloured sand, sticky paper and your imagination. Suitable for children aged five and older. Free event. Bookings essential. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

4.30pm for 5pm: Barefoot bowls at Nyah every Friday night, weather permitting, until April.

7pm-8.30pm: PS Pyap sunset cruise with live music. Enjoy a 90-minute sunset cruise with live music featuring That Guy, food and champagne along the Murray River. Cost is $75 per person. Additional drinks at bar prices. Boarding from 6.45pm for 7pm departure, returning at 8.30pm. Bookings through TryBooking.


SATURDAY

8am: Lake Boga Foreshore parkrun is a free, fun and friendly weekly 5km community event. Register before your first run. Email lakebogaforeshore@parkrun.com.

8.30am-12.30pm: Robinvale Country Market features various market stalls, fresh produce, plants, and entertainment.

9am-12noon: Nyah Lions Club Market features various market stalls, Lions hot donuts, wood raffle, plants, produce, honey and bric-a-brac.


SUNDAY

11.30am for 12noon: Manangatang District Bowling Club Any combination Triples. Five games of six ends. Cost is $45 per team. Barbecue food available.


MONDAY

10.30am: Special story time at Swan Hill Regional Library. Susea Spray will share her picture book A Big Blue Boat along with songs and craft. Children will love joining in with the fun wording and rhymes in this award-winning story about a boat a girl and the sea. All ages. Free entry. Bookings are preferred.

1pm-5pm: PlayStation virtual reality at Swan Hill Regional Library. Virtual reality is a computer-generated environment with scenes and objects that appear to be real, making the user feel they are immersed in their surroundings. Ages 12 and over. Free entry. Volunteers will be on hand to help.


TUESDAY

10am-11am: Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery school holiday program. Bookings essential. Workshops are for six to 12 year olds. Cost is $5 per child or free if you hold a family gallery membership.

3pm-4pm: Spheros at Swan Hill Regional Library. Join in this fun tech session with the Sphero SPRK+. Children will navigate a maze using simple code to make the Sphero talk, move and change colours. Suitable for children 10+. Free entry. Bookings are essential.


WEDNESDAY

7pm: Twilight Tales at Swan Hill Regional Library. Pop on your pyjamas, grab a teddy and join. We will enjoy stories and action rhymes, followed by pizza. Suitable for children of all ages. Free entry. Bookings are essential, call 5036 2480 to reserve your place.

8pm: Old Time Dancing at Murray Downs Golf & Country Club following the draw.


THURSDAY

ALL MONTH

January 8, 15 and 22 (1pm-5pm): Minecraft at Swan Hill Regional Library. Play in survival or creative mode, explore, experiment, create or break apart. Bookings are essential. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Until February 4 (Tuesday-Friday, 10am-5pm, Saturday and Sunday, 10am-4pm): All Around Us at Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery. The annual end-of-year exhibition by students from the Koori cultural arts course of SuniTAFE. Ceramics, painting and works on paper. Featuring Grace Cunningham-Nicholls, Cassandra Yournier, Michelle Kerr, Roslyn Thorpe and James Khan.

Until January 31: School holiday program at Swan Hill Regional Library. A creation station is set up in the children’s area of the library for the duration of the school holidays, where children can draw, cut, paste construct, colour in, complete activity booklets and make all sorts of creations using recycled items including wool, material, coloured paper and more. Suitable for all ages.
