A DOMINANT third quarter against finals contenders Balranald has seen Tooleybuc-Manangatang record back-to-back wins for the first time season.
The Saints proved unstoppable after half-time, outscoring the Roos 17-goals to eight to help set up an unassailable 15-goal lead at three-quarter time
There would be no stopping the home side from that moment on, with goal shooter Zoe Morris again playing a starring role along with talented midcourter Jayda Plant, with the pair both among Tooleybuc-Manangatang’s better players in the 56-38 victory.
Jess Parry and Chloe Taylor were among the best for Balranald, with Roos coach Elli-Jane Pollard lamenting her team’s slow start as well as their sluggish third quarter after the match.
“It was a disappointing loss, although the girls showed some great passages of play and proved we are more than capable of playing some really good netball if we can apply ourselves for a full four quarters,” Pollard said.
“We had a bit of a slow start, which gave them (Tooleybuc-Manangatang) an early lead that we were unable to peg back.
“With that said, the girls never gave up and kept a positive attitude all game.
“We’ll learn from the loss and hopefully come back bigger and better for Koondrook-Barham next week.”
