FRIENDS of Tyntynder Homestead Association will raffle off a unique piece of artwork painted by Swan Hill artist Margaret Lewis, with funds going back into the costs associated with maintaining the historic site.
Mrs Lewis’ painting captures the homestead in earlier times and would be a valuable addition to anyone looking to collect or preserve the region’s history.
The homestead, one of the oldest buildings in the municipality, is heritage listed.
Built between 1846 – 1850, it was originally a 400,000 acre station with livestock holdings that stretched from Tyntynder to Piangil.
The homestead will be open to the public next Sunday, with guided tours of the grounds and premises.
Tickets for the art work can be purchased by calling 0428 584 325.
