RACECOURSE

ON August 31, the club held a fundraising morning tea for Daffodil Day, with an excellent attendance of 103 enjoying a great morning tea provided by Any Occasion Katering.

Raffles, donations and entry fees raised a huge amount of $2440 for the local cancer group, which included $353 from Wrong Bias bowls throughout the year – many thanks to Keiran Foott for rattling the tin.

Jackpot bowls on August 30 was well attended, with 40 players participating.

The winners, with two wins and 29 shots up, were Arthur Threadgold and Ernie Russell, while the runners-up, with one win and 17 shots up, were Graeme Bennett, Kaye Roberts and Simon Blanthorn.

Forty-six players then participated on September 6, which was a very good result.

The winners, in a close competition, were Graeme Bennett, Clive Power and Marg Smith, with two wins and +11 shots, while the runners-up, with one win and +4 shots, were Jim Wilcox, Graeme Clark and Max Renney, with the jackpot not going off.

We also have to decide on whether the club wants to go ahead with the synthetic bowling green on the B green.

All agenda items are to be given to Rob Hayes.
