Bowls Notes

RACECOURSE

THE Racecourse Bowls Club has a busy time coming, up with our jackpot bowls shifting from Wednesdays to Tuesday for May 13 and May 20.

Don’t forget, we still have our members draw and raffles on a Friday night starting at 6pm.

On Wednesday, May 14, we have a special day for the special needs kids with our annual All Abilities Bowls day starting at 10am, with more information available by contacting Mallee Sports Assembly.

On Wednesday, May 21, Racecourse are hosting part of the State 60 & Over singles event at the club, with a 9.30am start time.

Sunday, May 25 sees our Tasco Triples event starting at 12.30pm with casual dress and names to be in to Glenn McIntosh on 0408 919 321.

LAKE BOGA

AN invitation is extended for all bowlers to join us for our Presidents Day event on Saturday, May 17, with a two-bowl triples being the format for a 12.30pm start.

Single or team entries are being taken by phoning Ken on 0408 591 256 or Danny 0447 845 975.

There will no pelican jackpot bowls this week as the club house is being used for a private function, and I am sure if you would like a game there would be space for you at the Swan Hill Bowls Club this week.

Given that the following week is our Presidents Day, pelican jackpot will return on the Saturday, May 24.

A reminder to our club members that next Wednesday is our AGM at the club house, starting at 7.30 pm, with nomination forms for the positions at the club available by seeing Nola.

After the completion of our Presidents Day bowls, the club will host our presentation night and we ask members to bring along a casserole to share, but more importantly come along and help celebrate our achievements for the year.

Pelican jackpot bowls was played in perfect conditions last Saturday, with Marie, Kez and Ken the winners and Janet, Nola and Frazer the runners-up.

The jackpot went off and there were two teams with -5, so the jackpot was shared six ways instead of three.

They were Grant, Basil, Ian, Alex, Di and Barbara, so when jackpot returns on May 24, it will be $90.

Winners of this weeks social bowls were Ken Hamill, Janet Hamill and Lyn Pfeiffer.
