SWAN HILL

THIS Friday is the first of Swan Hill Bowls Club’s winter mini tournaments, which will be held once a month in place of Friday Frolic for that day only.

The sun promises to shine and this Friday the 13th could be your lucky day.

You may enter a team or put in a single entry for the two bowl triples mini tournament, with entries needed to be in by 1pm and everyone ready for a 2pm start.

This will ensure you have your two games of 10 ends played before the evening chill sets in with everyone welcome to enter.

Entry fee is $30 per team or $10 singles, with good prize money of $120 per team for first, $60 per team for second on offer.

The Friday jackpot draw will still be held, giving all that play bowls a chance of cracking the jackpot, with entries to Bill King on 0428 324 083 or through the bowls club on 5032 1772.

The Swan Hill Bowls Club held our Annual General Meeting on Thursday, June 5, with Michael Balchin stepping down after two years as president and Bill King standing aside after four years as club secretary.

Thanks were extended to both Mick and Bill for their dedicated service and they will still continue in other roles within our club.

David Daly was elected as president, with Lee Tompsett taking on the secretary’s role, while Stuart Tompsett will continue for a second year as treasurer.

All three were wished all the best for the upcoming 2025-26 season.

There will be a list on the notice board of all committees.

Congratulations to club member Brian Richardson on being awarded a 15 year service medal for his dedicated work for Swan Hill’s St.Vincent de Paul society.

Brian is a past president of the Swan Hill Bowls Club and our members know that he puts his heart and soul into whatever tasks he takes on.
